This year Christmas just seems so different. It could be because we already gave each other our presents. It could be that we will actually be home on Christmas Eve. Or that we haven't put up our tree yet. I just don't feel ready for the day. Not that it's about the day. Since we've been so busy that we haven't been able to completely "prepare" for Christmas, we haven't taken the time to focus on this wonderful day when Jesus was born so long ago. I have tried to get it across to Z that this is Jesus' birthday that we are celebrating, but can't quite fathom it all. I anticipate the day when he realizes what it all means.
I'm looking forward to another crazy, but fun day- as long as it goes as planned. Of course it never does when working with kids! Still have some shopping to do, so hopefully we can finish it tomorrow. It will be nice to put the tree up and do the gingerbread house- just do stuff as a family. It's going to be a fun time together and a wonderful couple of days celebrating Christmas. Hope you all have a wonderful day with family and friends. And for those who have lost a special person this year, may God fill that whole with peace and joy. Merry Christmas!
